Examination of Haemonchus contortus infected ovine faecal cultures revealed morphologically variant H. contortus larvae in the cumulus of normal infective larvae. One larva had a bidigitate tail sheath, bifurcated into two unequal finger-like processes from the tail tip. The other larva had double tail, one larger than the other.

Occurrence of a spirurid round worm on necropsy of wild elephant calf in Mudumalai wild life sanctuary revealed ulcers in stomach and round worms identified as Parabranema smithi. The round worms had characteristic six horse- shoe shaped cephalic cordons.
