Abstract: The present investigation entitled “Effect of phosphorus and zinc levels on growth and yield of pearl millet (Pennisetum glaucum L.) under guava (Psidium guajava L.) based agri-horti system” was carried out during Kharif season 2011 at the Agricultural Farm of Rajiv Gandhi South Campus, Banaras Hindu University, Barkachha, Mirzapur, studies were taken on rainfed red lateritic cropped soil condition for fulfilment of the objectives. The experiment was laid out with three phosphorus levels and three zinc levels with nine treatment combinations. Which were compared in their replicated three times in factorial randomized block design. On the basis of the findings of the present investigation, it can be concluded that the levels of phosphorus (15 kg ha-1) and zinc (10 kg ha-1) was found most suitable levels of phosphorus and zinc, among all the levels of phosphorus and zinc in guava based agri-horti system under rain fed condition. Since the experiment was conducted for one year only thus needs further investigation to conform the results. The farmers of Eastern Uttar Pradesh were advised to adopt the phosphorus (15 kg ha-1) and zinc (10 kg ha-1) for pearl millet crop in guava based agri-horti system under rainfed condition for getting the maximum net returns.
