Abstract: The investigation was conducted to study an Analytical study on women dairy entrepreneurs in Nagamangala and Krishna Raj pet talukas in Mandya district of Karnataka during 2010-11. 120 women dairy entrepreneurs were selected from sample of the study. Structured interview schedule was used to collect the information through personal interview. Data was analysed by using frequency, percentage, correlation co-efficient and multiple regression. Women dairy entrepreneurs had medium (64.16%) of knowledge about improved dairy management practices and medium (55.83%) of adoptioin about improved dairy management practices. The socio economic profile of women dairy entrepreneurs revealed that (60.83%) belonged to middle age, educated middle and high school (25.00 and 15.83%, respectively), medium size of family (48.33%), small size of land holding (47.50%), High annual income (40.83%), Low dairy experience (48.33%), medium decision making ability(48.33%), medium risk orientation (59.16%) and medium economic motivation (60.00%). The value of benefit cost ratio which indicates the income per rupee invested in dairy enterprise which was Rs. 1.78, Rs. 2.02 and Rs. 1.88 for local cow, cross breed cow and buffalo, respectively. Major constraints faced by the women dairy entrepreneurs were non remunerative price of milk, high cost of concentrates, high cost of cross breed cow or improved buffaloes, lack of knowledge in local preparation of concentrate and highly expensive consultancy service of private practitioners.
