Abstract: cattle, dog and cat (Tell, 2005; Peeters and Clercx, 2007). Aspergillosis causes severe respiratory distress, bilateral mucopurulent nasal discharge, skin nodules on the ears and dorsal nasal region and focal depigmentation of the ventral commissure of the right nostril in goats (do Carmo et al., 2014). Though, drugs like Itraconazole and Amphotericin B are available to treat cutaneous aspergillosis (Johnson et al., 2000), repeated use of the drugs may lead to drug resistance (Dannaoui et al., 2001). Tamarind seed is one of the common and cheaply available natural products in India. Tamarind seed is used to treat boils, dysentery, eye diseases, ulcers, bladder stones and diabetes (Jayaweera, 1981). Stem, bark and fruit of Tamarindus indica were tested for their antifungal effect against five fungal strains Candida albicans, C. glabrata, C. krusei and Aspergillus niger (Pratibha et al., 2017). Keeping the above considerations in mind, a study was carried out to evaluate the efficacy of tamarind seed outer coat powder (TSOCP) to treat cutaneous aspergillosis in Tellicherry goats in an organized farm at Kancheepuram district (Tamil Nadu).
