Abstract: Anoestrous and repeat breeding in bovines are the two serious reproductive problems affecting 30-40 per cent of the total bovine population. The approaches to ameliorate infertility in cattle include application of synchronization protocols followed by fixed time Artificial Insemination (F.A.I.) both at farm (Paul and Prakash, 2005; Mohan et al., 2010) and field levels (Prakash, 2011). Ovsynch and estradoublesynch are two such protocols used to synchronize ovulation with fixed time A.I. The study was undertaken to compare the efficacy of ovsynch and estradoublesynch treatment and to suggest a suitable protocol to augment fertility.
