Abstract: A total of 16 dogs were brought with a history of painful urination and voiding red coloured urine. Urinary sediments were subjected to cytological examination. It revealed clusters of variable sized, round to polygonal neoplastic cells with binucleate to multinucleate, indistinct nucleoli and mitotic figures in five cases. Cytological examination confirmed Transitional Cell Carcinoma in five dogs and it could have occurred due to genetic and environmental etiologies.
