Abstract: In India, poultry sector is highly organized (80%) to a worth of Rs.80,000 crores with 20% of which is unorganized. About 30 million farmers in the country are engaged in backyard poultry farming. Government of India, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, under Department of Animal husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries developed a National Action Plan for egg and poultry 2022 for Doubling the farmers’ income by 2022. In this plan, target has been fixed on many requirements of poultry industry/farmers.
