Abstract: and 1.5 mg selenium per ml) was given at the dose rate of 1ml/50 kg body weight. Estrus induction response was 100% in Group II and III. Time required for onset of estrus was 78.16±6.10 h and 66.62±5.23 h and mean duration of estrus was 21.25±2.37 h and 20.16±4.22 h in Group II and III, respectively. Intensity of estrus was intense in 12.50%, 37.50% and 12.50%, intermediate in 62.50%, 50.00% and 75.00% and weak in 25.00%, 12.50% and 12.50% in Group I, II and III, respectively. The pregnancy rate was 62.50%, 87.50% and 75.00% in Group I, II and III respectively. Among the oxidative stress parameter, a significant decrease (P<0.01) in levels of lipid peroxidation (LPO) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) was noted. Whereas, significant increase (P<0.01) in catalase (CAT) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx) levels were observed in normal cyclic and postpartum anoestrus buffaloes treated with CIDR and Ovsynch protocol along with vit. E and Se. The mean Hb (g/dl) and PCV (%) concentration in Group I, II and III increased non-significantly from day 0 to 15 days post AI, respectively. The mean total protein (g/dl), albumin (g/dl) and globulin (g/dl) concentration increased significantly (P<0.05) at the time of AI as compared to day 0 in Group I, II and III, respectively. However, the mean Hb (g/dl), PCV (%), total protein (g/dl) and albumin (g/dl) concentration at different intervals were significantly higher in Group I as compared to Group II and III, respectively.
