It is well known that some of the Most important crop disease causing organism* are associated with the seeds. Ev ry year seed brone«diseas*s« J&b.* bunt end smut of wheat ana nmut of Barely, sorghura and oat are known to caves onoanous loss*** Among the seed-bone diseases of millets, grain smut of sorghum ( sohacelotheca eorahi (Link) Clin two ) is Hie most outstanding one as it causes an annual loss of two Billion dollars in Kansas stats (U.S.A. ) alone ( Meiefters, 1925 ). other important disease* «**si*g< w^panitisma associated with seeds ere ergot, downy mildew, leaf spotting fungi ouch at tffl,ffnr^TWlBtf*rtWT *»*# colletotricburo ap.« and sons other organisms like ap## luaarium sp.# Phoroa a^9 and Chestorn Jam *?• which MB/SuKKKBSSJSmm t encounter enessous losses.
