Abstract: The experiment was conducted on effect of feeding mulberry variety V i on biology and economic traits of different bivoltine silkworm races at Department of Agricultural Entomology, College of Agriculture, Latur. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with four replications using KSO,, CSR5, NP2, APS4, APS5 and KPGA bivoltine silkworm races. The shortest larval duration (27.45 days), pupal duration (10.39 days) and highest fecundity (472.00 eggs) were noticed in treatment T3 i.e. NP2 bivoltine race. The significantly highest moth emergence (90.75 per cent) was noticed in bivoltine race NP2 reared on mulberry variety Vj. The significantly highest effective rate of rearing (97.77 per cent), single shell weight (0.280 g), cocoon yield per 10000 larvae brushed (15.39 kg), cocoon filament weight (0.213 g), denier (2.53) and lower disease incidence (1.93 per cent) was recorded in bivoltine race NP2 reared on mulberry variety The higher larval weight of ten matured larvae (32.83 g), single cocoon weight (1.56 g) and cocoon filament length (758.75 m) was also recorded in bivoltine silkworm race NP2. The lowest cocoon filament weight (0.149 g), larval weight (28.90 g), effective rate of rearing (92.20 per cent), single cocoon weight (1.21 g), single shell weight (0.233 g), cocoon yield per 10,000 larvae brushed (12.21 kg), cocoon filament length (697 m), denier (1.92), highest disease incidence (3.05 per cent) and cocoon shell ratio (19.24 per cent) recorded in bivoltine silkworm race APS4 reared on mulberry variety V).
