Abstract: The experiment was conducted on effect of different maturity leaves of mulberry variety V-l on silkworm at Department of Agricultural Entomology, College of Agriculture, Latur. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with three replications using PM X CSR2 silkworm race during September- October 2013. The significantly shortest larval duration (23.21 days), pupal duration (10.18 days) and highest fecundity (565.33 eggs) were noticed in treatment Tj i.e. feeding of silkworm with tender leaves. The significantly highest weight of ten matured larvae (38.28 g), single cocoon weight (1.90 g), single shell weight (0.36 g), cocoon shell ratio (18.94 per cent), cocoon yield per 10000 larvae brushed (18.52 kg), cocoon filament length (898 m) and cocoon filament weight (0.254 g) were recorded in silkworm larval fed with tender leaves of mulberry variety V-l. The significantly highest moth emergence (97.33 per cent), hatchability (94.33 per cent) and lowest disease incidence (1.33 per cent), were recorded in silkworm larvae fed with tender leaves. The significantly lowest denier value (2.40) recorded in silkworm larvae fed with medium leaves. The highest effective rate of rearing (98.67 per cent) recorded in silkworm larvae fed with tender leaves. The highest moisture percentage (76.70 per cent), protein (24.76 per cent), total sugar (15.33 per cent) and lowest dry matter (23.24 per cent) were recorded in tender leaves of mulberry variety V-l.
