Abstract: Cluster bean (Cyamopsis tetragenoloba (L.) Taub), locally known as guar, is an important drought resistant leguminous crop of India. With a view to find out appropriate sowing time, optimum spacing and suitable variety for economical and quality grain production of cluster bean per unit area under rainfed conditions, this investigation was carried out. An experiment was laid out at the Gujarat Agricultural University, Anand Campus, Anand during kharif season of 1979. Eighteen treatments involving combinations of three sowing dates (29th June, 12th July and 28th July), three spacings (30, 45 and 60 cm) and two varieties (Kutch-8 and Malosan) were laid out in a split-split plot design with four replications.
