Abstract: Butylated hydroxy toluene (BHT) and phenobarbital have a protective action on the liver over the damage caused by aflatoxin (Patterson and Roberts, 1973; Larsen et. at., 1985). However, BHT has been incriminated as the cause for hemorrhagic deaths in rats (Takahashi and Hiraga, 1978). The present work deals with the biochemical studies in broiler chicken fed with BHT at different levels.
