Key words: Drip, Farmers satisfaction, Linear Discriminate Analysis This research work carried out on Discriminant analysis of adopters and non adopters of drip irrigation system in cotton crop in Junagadh district. The major objective of the study is the factors which discriminate the drip adopters and non adopters in cotton crop. The present study carried out with specific objectives like, to study the socio-economic profile of adopters and non-adopters of drip irrigation, to identify the factors discriminant of drip irrigation system adopters with non-adopters, to study the satisfaction level of farmers regarding drip irrigation system, to study the constraints faced by adopters and non-adopters of drip irrigation. Multi stage random sampling technique was adopted with different demographic status of samples. From Junagadh district randomly two talukas were selected and from each taluka total 50 farmers was selected purposively, in which comprise of 25 farmers who have adopted DIS in cotton crop and 25 farmers who are non adopters of DIS in cotton crop. Hence, total 100 farmers were selected for the study from the Junagadh district. Percentages and graphical methods were used to determine the socio economic profile of the two groups of farmers. To identify the factors which discriminating drip adopters and non adopters in cotton crop, multiple linear discriminant function analysis was used with the help of SPSS. To check the satisfaction level of farmers regarding drip three point likert scales were used alongside graphical methods. To trace out the any association between socio economic profile and satisfaction level chi square was used. The simple ranking was used to analyse the constraints faced by the adopters and non adopters of DIS. It was discovered that most of the farmers were marginal and his/her belonged to middle age group, general category and have primary level of education. Six variables i.e. annual income, landholding, experience in cotton cultivation, irrigation source, labour cost and cost of drip were the factors found discriminating between drip adopters and non adopters and in which four were significant at 1 per cent and two were significant at 5 per cent. Most of the drip adopters were satisfied with the price of drip and its work efficiency. There were no association between socio economic profile and satisfaction level of farmers regarding using drip in terms of price, work efficiency, maintenance cost etc. Only incomes affect the satisfaction level. Major problems faced by the drip adopters and non adopters were rodent damages and electricity.en_US
