Abstract: Tho present study was undertaken during the year 1991, at the Mahntma Phule Krishi V idyapee th , Rahuri L to find out the effacts of plant growth regulators and their time of application on maturity, yield and quality of pomegranate cv. G-137. The trial was conducted in factorial HBD with three replications and five chemical stages namely NAA at 10 ppm, GA at 50 ppm, BA at 10 ppm and CCC at 500 ppm were sprayed thrice i.e. 50, 75 and 100 days after the commencement of bahar treatment. Observations regarding fruit maturity, yield and quality were recorded. The maturity period of fruit was influenced by various spray treatments as compared to unsprayed control. CCC significantly accelerated the fruit muturity (14 0 to 137.3 days), while other chemicals delayed it as compared to the control (157 days), the GA being more effective (166 to 168 days). All the treatments significantly influenced yield in terms of kg fruits per plant, GA chemical registering 14.30 to 15.23 kq per plant, followed by NAA (13.88 to 15.13 kg). NAA sprayed on 50th day recorded higher yield (15.13 kg) among the treatment comb ina t ion a. All the chemicals gave significantly higher fruit weight over control, BA treatment being at par with control. GA treatment registered the highest fruit size (weight, and length and diameter) over the control. All the chemicals produced thinner rind. NAA increased 100 seed weight. All the treatments improved the fruit quality in respect of Aril per cent, aril : rindratio» Juice per cent,S5 per cent and T53:Acid ratio and sugars. The overall results indicated that 10 ppm NAA sprayed on 50th day gave more yield with prolonged maturity and better quality of fruits. while, spray of CCC on 100th day gave early maturity with higher yield and improved quality of fruit. For increased yield and size of fruits, GA on 100th day was better.
