The present study was conducted in two phases with a objective to study the various macro and micro minerals in cattle and buffalo in haryana. In the first phase serum samples of cattle and buffalo were collected from various districts of Haryana. In second phase estimation of micro minerals viz. Cobalt (Co). Copper (Cu), Iron (Fe), Zinc (Zn) levels was carried out by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS). Twenty five samples each from cow and buffalo per district of Haryana were used for the present study. In cattle, observed mean levels of Co, Cu, Fe and Zn were ranged from 0.0-1.02±0.08, 0.0-1.104±0.101, 06.921±0.679 and 0.058±0.041 ppm, respectively; whereas, in buffalo the mean levels were ranged between 0.0 - 1.104±0.101, 0.0 - 1.189±0.112, 05.749±0.218 – 14.314±0.484 and 0.156±0.125 - 3.704±0.456 ppm for Co, Cu, Fe, Zn. The Co significant difference (p<0.01) was found in bhiwani, fatehabad, karnal districts. Serum level was not detectable in both cattle and buffalo in yamunanagar and kurukshetra whereas not detectable only in cattle of karnal. The Cu significant difference (p<0.05) found in Yamunanagar and Ambala districts. Copper level in serum was not detectable in Jhajjar and Rewari districts. Fe significant difference (p<0.05) in panipat and rohtak and significant difference (p <0.01) was observed in fatehabad, kaithal, panchkula, yamunanagar districts. Zn significant difference (p<0.01) was found only in kaithal district. In all other districts non significant difference has been observed. In the presents study, results are comparable with the past studies reported by different researchers and mostly the observed levels were within the permissible limits. However, this is the preliminary study and further work may be carried out by estimating the levels in more number of samples.
